Silencio, the legendary Parisian nightclub, brought its energy to Miami’s Design District with a pop-up lounge hosted by Pharrell Williams, revered hip hop/R&B composer and design connoisseur (who gave a Talk at last year’s Design Miami/), and contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.
David Lynch, filmmaker and artist, worked with designer Raphael Navot, architectural agency Enia, and light designer Thierry Dreyfus to conceive and design the original Silencio location, and was inspired by the club from Lynch’s 2001 film, Mulholland Drive.
The party was filled with notable guests and psychedelically costumed characters straight out of the Murakami universe. Pharrell arrived with Diddy – both of whom mingled amongst the joyful crowd – until Pharrell took the stage for a performance that prompted a massive conga line.
